Skirt number 2
For this skirt i purchased a wetlook PVC at £2 per meter.
I had a feeling this fabric would be tricky to work with so i practiced working on a few small samples.
Fortunately the fabric sewed fine.
The first thing i did was fold the fabric
into four, then cut out the full circle skirt i wanted as shown in the
picture below (left).
I then folded it out and cut in a seam for the zip to go into.
Then i sewed the seam together. I quite enjoyed working with this fabric, especiallydue to how it surpasses my expectations.
The zip was very hard to do as i did not have a zip foot
Overall i did like the final outcome of the skirt. It reminded me of the classic 60's look, appearing bright and extrovert, proud and loud.
The feedback I got for this garment was not very good as they were unimpressed by the simiplicity of the production. I agree that this garment is quite simple to make though I think its simplicity is why I am fond of its fashion.
